Amanda - Custom
The neatest thing about working with brides, are the referrals. I mean how awesome, to have the opportunity to work with cool people and then their friends, and their friends …
Amanda was a referral of Kristin, who was a referral of a my dear friend Kelley. I was thrilled when Amanda reached out to me! Especially after hearing her style/ vibe and how she saw herself on her big day.
Amanda wanted something easy breezy with a bit of edge and the color to be NOT WHITE, but also not black! We found a beautiful silver grey stretch lace and lined it in a stretch charmeuse beige underlay. I love the main body of this dress with the sweetheart neckline and scooped back. The thin silver spaghetti straps are a perfect accent to the bodice. I sewed in a bustier for support, which looks totally perfect on Amanda. The skirt is slim with princess seams and short underlay. The overlay of the skirt is a soft netted grey tulle. I attached the skirt into the waist, and left it in panels without seams, so that it floats as she walks.
I seriously hit the jackpot, working with Amanda. She knew what she wanted but was also open to suggestions. The look we created was exactly what she asked for and I am thrilled with the outcome… so much that I would like to put the Eckert Dress (Amanda’s last name) into a Bridal Collection (with a fuller skirt and train). I am so happy to have had the opportunity to get to know Amanda and form a new friendship.
Thank You Amanda, for allowing me to be apart of your day. xo Sheila
