Alyssa - Custom
Alyssa was referred to me by my friend Ashley. Alyssa had a clear vision of how she wanted to look on her wedding day. I do love when a custom client comes to me knowing exactly what they wait. Working with Alyssa was an absolute dream. She was direct on her likes and dislikes and truly the whole process was a breeze.
Initially i created two muslin samples for Alyssa, because I couldn’t decide in the direction of how I wanted to construct her dress in regards to the bodice overlay and also the shape and fullness of skirt. I guess you could say I was the indecisive one this time! We ended up taking the bodice from one muslin sample and the skirt idea from another muslin sample… ta da! Alyssa’s dress!
We created a modern bodice silhouette that has a V front neckline and a plunging V back. The skirt is a gathered tulle overlay with slit and train, and the underlay a beautiful satin. The bodice fabric is lace overlay with satin underlay and lining. I hand sewed chiffon pom flowers to looks as if they trickled from the bodice onto the skirt. We had one minor change after our first fitting where we decided to not do the sleeves from Alyssa’s original concept. While the sleeves were gorgeous lace with pops, it was just too heavy for the look of the dress. We also decided to add a matching veil to the overall look, with poms of course.
The color of this dress is like no other. It is a beautiful soft pink blush, it is so dreamy. I really love the ethereal romantic feel of the dress with a modern flair. I absolutely adore you!
