Shelby - Upcycle
Shelby came to me with an idea in mind. She wanted to create a cathedral length veil using components of her mom’s wedding dress circa 1980. As soon as I read this inquiry, I was hooked.
During our meetings Shelby was super open to my ideas and very laid back. We had a moment where I suggested she and her mom play around with placements. I suggested using lace from the dress to tie in the train of the original dress into the veil… YES! she loved it. Okay this project was coming together. One evening we spent hours texting back and forth before I began sewing. I put the appliques in a placement, she took a screen shoot and dress arrows. I’m telling you I felt like we were playing a video game. We had a lot of fun.
This is going to be a short post, because this truly was one of the easiest, rather easy going projects I have worked on this season. We are still in this pandemic and it certainly has brought out the worst in some people but for us and this collaboration it was pure magic. I’m thankful to have met you Shelby. You are an awesome lady. - xo Sheila
“I had a custom veil made from my moms dress. Sheila was not only UH-MAZING at what she did but also super fun and easy to work with! The veil was easily the most talked about item at my wedding and it was so well priced for what I got! It’s well made so it will be passed down to other generations. I would 1000% recommend Sheila and her team! I never expected such a gem in a tiny town but you can’t go wrong with her!” - Shelby
