Nicole - Custom

I met Nicole in 2009 through my husband. They actually worked together as personal trainers. Right from the start, I knew I liked this lady! Nicole is energetic and fun. She is very passionate about life, kids and her career. I really admire go-getters.  Nicole has always been supportive of my fashion label from the early stages to now. She was there to support me during the flagship store grand opening and continues to show excitement as the company grows. Last year at a local street fair (Jubilee Day), my team and I were handing out fans with the SHEILA FRANK logo on it, she sends me a photo with her kids holding the fans. That little gesture meant the world to me.

When I found out Nicole was engaged I approached her about making her dress. We went back and forth on the idea because of timing and my already booked schedule. In the beginning of July I asked her if she found a dress, because she hadn't mentioned anything further to me about it. Nicole had a back up but wasn't in love with anything. And that is where I came in. We made Nicole's dress in a month! Yes it is possible if the schedule can allow some juggling. We changed the design a few times but I told her to have faith in me and I completely changed the initial sketch to a style that I felt was more her. I cut the muslin and during our sample fitting, I literally cut, pinned and marked all over it to fit. I showed her my fabric ideas down to the trim and poof, we had our dress!

I enjoy creating in the moment, it reminds me of when I was a kid playing with my barbies. I am thankful that Nicole allowed me to do this and believed in my vision. Nicole's dress is a high neck, scoop back with a high/low skirt with side seam pockets. The fabric is a stretch sequin lace for the bodice with a beaded scallop trim for the straps. The skirt has a beautiful embroidered beaded overlay, over matte satin. At our last fitting we decided to add a matte buttercup colored circle skirt. We wanted her to have the option of a gown for the ceremony and a shorter dress for the reception. I fell as much in love with this dress as Nicole did, that I just had to ask her if I could feature it as the Nicole Dress in the S/S 2018 Collection. Now other brides can have a similar look as cool as Nicole.

Thank You Nicole, for allowing me to be apart of your day. xo Sheila
